Severalmaz to launch tenders, direct sales

Severalmaz, the Arkhangelsk diamond miner owned by Alrosa, is planning to start direct diamond sales and tenders after it receives its government export license this quarter, a company source told PolishedPrices. The company has set up a marketing organization, which has called on buyers to submit applications to be qualified for the bidding. The Severalmaz rough is extracted from initial mining and from the pilot processing plant on the site of the Lomonosov diamond field. Specials of more than 10.8 carats will be sold separately. The company estimates its reserves at more than one pipe at the field to be worth about $12 billion.
