Tiffany goes to Russia

Russia's Alrosa and Kristall  intend to develop a collection with Russian diamonds under the Tiffany & Co brand, Kristall's general director Maxim Shkadov said, according to Russian news agency Interfax.

It said the company is currently looking into the possibility of similar cooperation with top-end jeweller Cartier.

"Together with Kristall we are already producing Russian-cut Yakutia diamonds, and Tiffany is buying them. But it is important to us that the product is known to the very last stage, when the buyer acquires it. Here we need to carry out more work. But it is already a fact that there is demand for our produce from the leading jewellrey firms," Interfax quoted Alrosa president Alexander Nichiporuk as saying.
